2009 Top Ten Nominees

Reagan Garcia

Reagan Duran Garcia was born a Houstonian, but raised in Richmond, TX. After graduating high school and junior college, she briefly moved to Houston while attending University of Houston Downtown. After graduating with a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree in Computer Information Systems, she married Chris and moved back to Richmond. They are happily raising their son, Caleb.

They are both active in their church, Family Life Christian Fellowship where Reagan assists with their Alms ministry - ministering to families in need.

For many years, Reagan has been an active member in her local community. She volunteered with Amigos De Dios, a former food pantry in Fort Bend County.
Reagan was successful in setting up a program with the Houston Food Bank to provide food to this local pantry. Although her Spanish language skills were poor, she began taking courses in Spanish to be able to communicate with many of the pantries clients. While volunteering for the food pantry she took a job assisting high risk children after school. She set up programs to help them with their homework and provide a safe environment until mom and dad came home. In addition to the children, she assisted the senior citizens with activities and help understanding their healthcare plans. This opportunity led to Reagan becoming a Fort Bend County Literacy Volunteer.
Although working an 8-5 job in the IT field, she volunteered her evenings to help women become literate.

She also assisted families that survived Hurricane Katrina to find permanent housing within Texas. She brought in food, clothing and transportation to these families within Fort Bend County.

After becoming a distributor for Advocare and looking for opportunities to network her business, she gladly accepted an invitation to attend a meeting with ABWA. Reagan became a member in 2006. After just a few short months she was on the board of WINGS Chapter as Treasurer and currently Vice President, and website and newsletter chair. She is also an active member of the Ft.
Bend County Chapter where she is also the newsletter chair.
